All about Henna + Mehendi

About Mehendi @ Henna

A lot of people usually confused what is real mean by mehendi and also henna.Actually this both leads to the same meaning ,but Henna is a paste created by the crushed leaves of henna plants , which have a natural staining ability ans added ingredients such as teas and lime juice. The use of the paste is to create temporary body decoration art which is called as Mehendi. The simple example of the differences is "Henna is the paste " and "Mehendi is the design".

Mehendi art has been used at celebrations like wedding and other special occasions which are traditionally associated with transcendence and transformation. It is used for workship and work but not for the shake of vanity. It is traditional for the bride to get together with her frenz and have them spend hours applying the henna to her skin and give her marriage advice in tandem. The patterns used for wedding night , sexual pointers and tips during the hours that it can take to complete the design. The bride's mehendi must be more beautiful and intricate than anyone else's of course since it is , after all its her special day.Another interesting facts is that the bride has good reason to look after her henna for she is not expected to partake in housework until the henna is gone. This means that she will not be rubbing, scrubbing and tubbing alot unless she really loves doing work @ home.

DO's
:: Mehendi should be kept atleast 4-5 hours till it is fully dry.
:: Scrape off the dry Mehendi and do not wash it with water for atleast 24hours
to ensure maximum colour

:: Apply a mixture of lemon and sugar , atleast twice to the dried area .
:: After the Mehendi are dried completely get some steam passing throuhg cloves
over the hot iron or apply Vicks or Minyak Cap Kapak for a good darkened coloe.

DONT's

:: After the mehendi are applied avoid washing the area with soap or water
:: Do not use an oily soap as this can prevent the color from setting properly
:: Avoid staying close to air -conditioner as it dries up the mehendi
:: Never do waxing, manicure ,pedicure and bleaching 4-5 days before applying the mehendi,
this can cause the Mehendi dont turns well.

Advice: PLEASE, never use BLACK HENNA. Don't even go near it. A chemical called PPD, present in black henna, can cause chemical burns on your skin. Escaping an allergic reaction the first time you use black henna does not mean that you will have the same luck next time.
